Bread Pudding Ingredients
Method
Directions
- 1
Prepare the Bread Pudding
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear stale bread into small pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
In another bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Pour the egg mixture over the torn bread and let it soak for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 4
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 5
Make the Bourbon Glaze
While the pudding is baking, combine bourbon, powdered sugar, and a splash of water in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- 6
Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is slightly thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.
- 7
Prepare the Whipped Cream
In a chilled mixing bowl, beat the whipping cream until soft peaks form. You can add a little sugar or vanilla if desired.
- 8
Once the bread pudding is done, drizzle the bourbon glaze over the top and serve warm with whipped cream.
