Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, pour the buttermilk over the chicken pieces. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best flavor.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Heat the Oil
In a large deep skillet or fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil and fry for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
