Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Pork Chops

Generously season the pork chops with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Pork Chops

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Gravy

  1. 3

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Gravy

Sprinkle the flour over the onion and garlic mixture, stirring to combine. Slowly pour in the chicken broth and soy sauce, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer and let it thicken for about 3-5 minutes.

Combine and Finish

  1. 5

    Smother the Pork Chops

Return the seared pork chops to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes until the pork is cooked through and tender.

  2. 6

    Add Butter

Before serving, swirl in the butter into the gravy for extra richness and flavor.
