Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast is activated, make a well in the flour mixture and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough begins to form.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 7

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide the dough into two halves for 12" or 16" pizzas and roll each out to your desired thickness.

  3. 8

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the base, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese. Add pepperoni, bell peppers, and mushrooms as desired.

  4. 9

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Lightly drizzle olive oil over the toppings for added flavor.

  5. 10

    Bake the Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

  6. 11

    Slice and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve hot.
