Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Gratin Dauphinois

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Peel and thinly slice the potatoes. In a saucepan, melt the butter and add minced garlic. Stir in the heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Layer the potatoes in a greased baking dish, pouring the cream mixture over each layer. Top with grated cheese. Bake for 45-60 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess fat.

  3. 3

    Cook the Eggs

In the same skillet, crack the eggs and cook to your desired doneness (sunny-side up, over-easy, etc.). Season with salt and pepper.

  4. 4

    Toast the Bread

Toast the slices of bread until golden brown.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate the Dish

On a plate, serve the eggs alongside the crispy bacon, a portion of gratin dauphinois, and the toasted bread. Accompany with a glass of milk or juice.
