Choux Pastry

Chocolate Sauce

Method

Choux Pastry

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a saucepan, combine water and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat until butter melts. Remove from heat and stir in flour and salt until a ball forms.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Let the mixture cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

    Pipe the Puffs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Use a piping bag to pipe small mounds of dough onto the sheet.

  4. 4

    Bake

Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely.

Filling

  1. 5

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

  2. 6

    Fill the Puffs

Use a small knife to make a hole in the bottom of each puff and pipe the whipped cream into each profiterole.

Chocolate Sauce

  1. 7

    Make the Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, stirring until melted and smooth.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Serve

Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the filled profiteroles and serve immediately.
