Prepare the Coffee Mixture

Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and allow it to cool slightly.

Mix in Liqueur
Stir in 1 tablespoon of coffee liqueur into the cooled espresso.
Make the Filling

Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar
In a bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until the mixture is light and creamy.

Add Mascarpone and Vanilla
Gently fold in 500g of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the egg yolk mixture until smooth.

Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
Assemble the Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip 24 ladyfinger cookies into the coffee mixture, making sure they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Base
Place a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9x9 inch dish.

Add Filling
Spread half of the mascarpone filling mixture over the layer of ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.
Chill and Serve

Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

Add Cocoa and Chocolate
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.

Slice into squares and serve chilled.
