Filet Mignon

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Filet Mignon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the filet mignon from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the filet mignon with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and fresh rosemary.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned filet mignon. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until the desired doneness is reached.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the filet from the skillet and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cube the potatoes. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 6

    Cook the Garlic

While the potatoes are cooking, peel and smash the garlic cloves. In a separate pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over low heat and add the garlic cloves. Sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes.

  3. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Once the potatoes are tender, drain them and return them to the pot. Add the sautéed garlic and remaining butter, then mash the potatoes until smooth.

  4. 8

    Add Milk and Season

Pour in the milk and mix until creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
