Nail Preparation

Shellac Application

Method

Nail Preparation

  1. 1

    Remove Old Polish

Soak cotton balls in nail polish remover and press them onto your nails for a few seconds to dissolve any existing nail polish. Wipe the polish off with a cotton ball.

  2. 2

    Shape Nails

Use a nail file to shape your nails to your desired length and form. Gently file in one direction to avoid splitting.

  3. 3

    Push Back Cuticles

Using a cuticle pusher, gently push back the cuticles on each nail to create a clean surface for the polish.

  4. 4

    Moisturize Cuticles

Apply cuticle oil around the base of your nails and massage it in to hydrate the cuticles.

Shellac Application

  1. 5

    Apply Base Coat

Apply a thin layer of base coat evenly on each nail. Be careful not to get it on your skin. Cure under the UV/LED lamp for the recommended time (typically 30 seconds).

  2. 6

    Apply Shellac Color Polish

Apply a thin layer of your chosen Shellac color polish. Cure under the UV/LED lamp for the recommended time. Repeat this step for a second coat for more opacity.

  3. 7

    Apply Top Coat

Finish with a thin layer of top coat. Cure under the UV/LED lamp for the recommended time to ensure a long-lasting finish.

  4. 8

    Final Cleanse

After curing the top coat, use a lint-free wipe and some alcohol to remove the sticky residue from the top of the nails.
