Preparing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

Start by bringing 2 cups of fresh water to a rolling boil in a kettle.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Once the water has boiled, remove it from heat and add 2 tablespoons of black tea leaves to the water. Allow the tea to steep for about 5 minutes for a robust flavor.

  3. 3

    Add Bergamot

After 5 minutes of steeping, add 1 teaspoon of bergamot essential oil to the tea and stir gently to combine.

Serving the Tea

  1. 4

    Strain and Sweeten

Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the tea into a teapot or directly into cups. Add 1 tablespoon of honey or sugar to taste, and stir until dissolved.

  2. 5

    Garnish

Add a slice of lemon to each cup for an added citrus note.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve the Imperial Earl Grey hot and enjoy the aromatic flavors.
