Mojito Ingredients

Method

Mojito Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle the Mint

In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press them down. This releases the essential oils and flavor of the mint. Be careful not to tear the leaves too much; just press to release the aroma.

  2. 2

    Add Lime Juice

Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice out of one half into the glass with the muddled mint. You can use a lime squeezer for more efficient extraction. The other half will be cut into wedges for garnish later.

  3. 3

Mix in the Rum and Simple Syrup

Pour in the white rum and simple syrup over the muddled mint and lime juice. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 4

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes, almost to the top. This will chill the drink nicely.

  5. 5

    Top with Club Soda

Slowly pour the club soda over the ice, allowing it to mix in gently. This adds the refreshing fizz to the mojito.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish the drink with the lime wedges and a sprig of mint. Use a straw if desired, and serve immediately to enjoy the refreshing flavors.
