Method
Nail Preparation
- 1
Remove Old Nail Polish
Soak a cotton ball in nail polish remover and press it onto your nail for a few seconds to dissolve the old polish. Wipe the cotton ball down the nail to remove the polish completely. Repeat for all nails.
Nail Care
- 2
Shape the Nails
Using a nail file, gently file the edges of your nails to your desired shape (oval, square, etc.). Always file in one direction to prevent splitting.
- 3
Push Back Cuticles
Apply cuticle oil around the base of the nails. Wait a minute, then use a cuticle pusher to gently push back the cuticles. Be careful not to push too hard or damage the skin.
Polishing
- 4
Apply Base Coat
Start by applying a thin layer of base coat nail polish to each nail. Allow it to dry completely to create a smooth base for the color polish.
- 5
Apply Color Polish
Once the base coat is dry, apply your chosen color nail polish in thin layers. Start from the base of the nail and move towards the tip. Allow each layer to dry before applying another, usually 2-3 coats are needed for full coverage.
- 6
Seal with Top Coat
After the color polish is dry, apply a top coat nail polish to protect your manicure and add shine. Allow it to dry completely.
