Make Hasselback Cuts
Using a sharp knife, make deep, spaced cuts along the top of the beef filets, being careful not to cut all the way through. Insert slivers of garlic and sprigs of fresh thyme in between the cuts.

Roast Brussels Sprouts
Trim the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half. Toss with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper, then roast in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for 20-25 minutes or until crispy.

Prepare Black Bean Sauce
In a saucepan, combine black beans, soy sauce, garlic powder, ground ginger, and sesame oil. Heat over medium until warmed through, about 5-7 minutes.
