Method

Prepare the steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the steak

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Rub this mixture over the flank steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the steak

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  3. 3

    Slice the steak

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

Assemble the burrito

  1. 4

    Prepare the tortillas

Warm the large flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.

  2. 5

    Layer the ingredients

On each tortilla, add 1/2 cup of cooked rice, 1/4 cup of black beans, a portion of sliced steak, and 1/4 cup of shredded cheese.

  3. 6

    Add toppings

Add desired amounts of sour cream, salsa, chopped cilantro, and sliced jalapeños on top of the filling.

  4. 7

    Wrap the burrito

Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly from the bottom to enclose the filling.

Serve

  1. 8

    Slice and serve

Cut the burrito in half and serve immediately with extra salsa and sour cream on the side.
