Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from heat and stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the dough forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, mixing well until fully combined and smooth.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 4

    Mix Coating

In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Set aside.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough directly into the hot oil.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
