Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steaks with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary. Let the steaks sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to high heat. Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Preparing the Fries

  1. 3

    Cut the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into evenly-sized fries, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 4

    Soak the Fries

Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and results in crispier fries.

  3. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or a large heavy pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked fries and pat them dry with paper towels. Fry them in batches for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 7

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt to taste.
