Brisket
Method
Preparation
Prepare the Brisket
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Trim excess fat from the brisket and pat it dry with paper towels.
Season the Meat
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.
Prepare the Cooking Liquid
In a large roasting pan, combine the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and liquid smoke. Place the seasoned brisket on top of the liquid.
Cover and Cook
Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Cook for about 3 hours.
Check for Tenderness
After 3 hours, check the brisket for tenderness. It should be fork-tender. If not, continue cooking, checking every 30 minutes.
Rest the Brisket
Once tender, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
