Filling and Crust

Method

Preparation and Baking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pie Crust

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Poke holes in the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

  3. 3

    Mix the Filling

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, whole milk, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Quiche

Spread the cooked bacon evenly over the pie crust, then sprinkle the shredded Gruyère cheese on top. Pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese.

  5. 5

    Bake

Bake the quiche in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
