Wine Components
Method
Winemaking Process
- 1
Harvesting
Harvest the Chardonnay grapes at optimal ripeness, usually in late summer to early fall.
- 2
Crushing and Pressing
Crush the harvested grapes and press them to extract the juice. Ensure to minimize oxidation.
- 3
Fermentation
Add the yeast to the grape juice to initiate fermentation. Maintain a temperature around 65-70°F (18-21°C) to enhance flavor development.
- 4
Malolactic Fermentation
Introduce malolactic bacteria to convert sharp malic acid into softer lactic acid, which contributes to the creaminess of the wine.
- 5
Aging
Transfer the wine into new French Oak barrels for aging. Allow the wine to mature for 10-12 months, monitoring the flavor development.
- 6
Sulfiting
Add sulfur dioxide to the wine to prevent oxidation and unwanted microbial growth before bottling.
- 7
Bottling
Once aging is complete, carefully bottle the wine, ensuring that it is sealed properly to retain its quality.
