For the Margarita
Method
Jalapeño Infused Tequila Preparation
- 1
Infuse the Tequila
Slice the jalapeño pepper in half lengthwise and remove the seeds for less heat, if desired. Place the jalapeño halves in a clean jar and pour the tequila over them. Seal the jar and let it sit in a cool, dark place for at least 24 hours, preferably up to 3 days to intensify the flavor.
Margarita Preparation
- 2
Prepare the Watermelon
In a blender, add the cubed watermelon and blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove pulp, if desired, yielding fresh watermelon juice.
- 3
Mix the Margarita
In a cocktail shaker, combine 1 cup of the infused tequila, the fresh watermelon juice, fresh lime juice, and orange liqueur. Fill the shaker with ice cubes, cover, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.
- 4
Prepare the Glass
On a small plate, spread out the Tajin seasoning. Moisten the rim of your serving glasses with a lime wedge, then dip the rims into the Tajin to coat.
