Fresh Ingredients

Method

House-Made Sorrel Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Sorrel

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the dried sorrel flowers, fresh ginger, cloves, and cinnamon stick. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.

  2. 2

    Strain the Mixture

After simmering, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a clean container to remove the solid ingredients.

  3. 3

    Sweeten the Sorrel

While the liquid is still warm, stir in 1 cup of sugar until completely dissolved. Allow the sorrel to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.

Cocktail Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Cocktail

In a shaker filled with ice, combine 2 oz of ginger whiskey, 1 oz of chilled house-made sorrel, and 1 oz of fresh lemon juice. Shake well until chilled.

  2. 5

    Serve the Cocktail

Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice. Top with 4 oz of kombucha.

  3. 6

    Garnish

Slap the fresh mint leaves between your palms to release their aroma and garnish the drink with them. You can also add a lemon slice if desired.
