Chicken Preparation
- 1
Marinate Chicken
In a mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the boneless chicken breasts and ensure they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In a separate bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Set aside.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can check the temperature with a thermometer or drop a small amount of flour into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.
- 4
Coat the Chicken
Remove the marinated chicken from the buttermilk and allow excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour coating, pressing lightly to ensure it adheres well.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the coated chicken breasts into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove and drain on paper towels.
