Method

Prepare the Secret Sauce

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended and set aside.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the Pat La Frieda ground beef into two equal portions (4 oz each) and gently form them into patties. Do not overwork the meat to keep them tender.

  2. 3

    Season the Patties

Sprinkle both sides of the patties with salt and black pepper.

  3. 4

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and smash them down with a spatula to create a nice crust. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side.

  4. 5

    Flip & Add Cheese

Flip the patties and immediately place two slices of American cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty is cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

If desired, lightly toast the burger buns on the skillet or griddle until golden.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread a generous amount of the house-made secret sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked patties with melted cheese on top, followed by shredded lettuce and pickles to taste.

  3. 8

    Close the Burger

Cap the burger with the top half of the bun and press down gently.
