Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Edamame

While the water is heating, rinse the edamame pods under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Steam the Edamame

Once the water has reached a rolling boil, carefully add the rinsed edamame pods to the pot. Cover the pot and steam the edamame for 5-7 minutes, or until they become bright green and tender.

  2. 4

    Season the Edamame

After steaming, remove the pot from heat. Drain the edamame in a colander and sprinkle with 1 tsp of salt while they are still warm. Toss to ensure even seasoning.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve

Transfer the seasoned edamame to a serving bowl. Optionally, serve with crushed red pepper flakes and lemon wedges on the side for added flavor.
