Chill the Glass
Start by chilling your martini glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare the cocktail.

Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of gin and 0.5 oz of dry vermouth.

Add Ice
Add 6 ice cubes to the mixing glass or shaker to chill the mixture.

Stir or Shake
Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds or shake it if you prefer a shaken martini. The goal is to chill the ingredients thoroughly.

Garnish
Place 1 olive on a cocktail pick and drop it into the martini glass for garnish.
