Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready for baking.

  2. 2

    Mix dry ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

  3. 3

    Mix wet ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and melted unsalted butter. Add in the vanilla extract and cinnamon, mixing until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts if using.

Baking

  1. 5

    Prepare the baking pan

Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

  2. 6

    Pour batter

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

  3. 7

    Bake

Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Finishing Touches

  1. 8

    Cool and serve

Once baked, let the dish cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  2. 9

    Add toppings

Before serving, dust with powdered sugar and top with fresh berries if desired.
