Steak

Blistered Shishito Peppers

Caramelized Onions

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the New York Strip steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest.

Blistered Shishito Peppers

  1. 2

    Blister the Peppers

In a separate skillet, heat olive oil over high heat. Add the shishito peppers and cook until they blister and brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and season with sea salt.

Caramelized Onions

  1. 3

    Caramelize the Onions

In another skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and salt, and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 4

    Make the Mashed Potatoes

Peel and quarter the russet potatoes. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. In the last 5 minutes of cooking, add peeled garlic cloves. Drain the potatoes and garlic, then return to the pot. Add butter, milk, and salt, and mash until smooth.
