Method

Fried Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the chicken thighs, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare for Frying

In a separate bowl, mix the flour and sesame seeds. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, and coat each piece in the flour mixture.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Glaze the Chicken

Drizzle the fried chicken with maple syrup before serving.

Waffle Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.

  2. 6

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then mix in the buttermilk and melted butter.

  3. 7

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  4. 8

    Cook the Waffles

Preheat a waffle iron and lightly grease it. Pour the batter onto the hot waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until golden brown.

Lihing Pineapple Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare the Pineapple

In a bowl, combine the diced pineapple and lihing powder. Toss gently to coat evenly.
