Baking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Butter

In a cast iron skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Be careful not to burn it. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the brown butter and granulated sugar. Whisk until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  3. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

  4. 4

    Add Fruits

Gently fold in the seasonal fruits into the batter.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the batter into the same cast iron skillet used for the butter. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving. Cut into wedges and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
