Wurst Selection

Pickled Vegetables

Method

Wurst Preparation

  1. 1

    Grill the Wurst

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the bratwurst, käsekrainer, and bauernwurst on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the sausages are browned and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of at least 160°F (71°C).

Pickled Vegetables Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Thinly slice the cucumber, carrot, and red onion. Place them in a large bowl.

  2. 3

    Make the Pickling Brine

In a saucepan, combine white vinegar, water, sugar, salt, dill seeds, and peppercorns. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the sugar and salt are dissolved.

  3. 4

    Pickle the Vegetables

Pour the hot pickling brine over the sliced vegetables in the bowl. Stir to combine and allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Serving

  1. 5

    Assemble the Wurstlteller

On a serving platter, arrange the grilled sausages alongside the pickled vegetables. Serve with mustard or your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
