Espresso
Steamed Milk
Method
Espresso Preparation
- 1
Grind the Coffee Beans
Using a coffee grinder, grind 18 grams of espresso coffee beans to a fine consistency.
- 2
Prepare the Espresso
Using an espresso machine, pack the ground coffee into the portafilter. Add 240 ml of water to the machine and brew the espresso for about 25-30 seconds until you have a rich, dark shot of espresso.
Steaming the Milk
- 3
Heat the Milk
Pour 240 ml of milk into a steaming pitcher. Use the steam wand of the espresso machine to heat the milk until it reaches about 65-70°C (150-158°F), creating a velvety texture and microfoam.
- 4
Froth the Milk
While steaming, tilt the pitcher to create a whirlpool effect, incorporating air into the milk to achieve a smooth, frothy consistency.
Assembling the Café Latte
- 5
Combine Espresso and Milk
In a large mug, pour the freshly brewed espresso shot. Slowly pour the steamed milk over the espresso, allowing some of the microfoam to settle on top for a beautiful presentation.
- 6
Serve
Your café latte is now ready to be enjoyed! Optionally, you can sprinkle some cocoa powder or cinnamon on top for added flavor.
