Oysters and Sauce

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oysters

Preheat your broiler. Clean the oysters under cold water, scrubbing the shells with a brush. Carefully shuck the oysters and place them on a baking sheet, keeping the oyster liquor in the shells.

  2. 2

    Make the Sauce

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in lemon juice, white wine, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  3. 3

    Broil the Oysters

Spoon a generous amount of the sauce over each oyster. Place the baking sheet under the broiler and broil for about 5-7 minutes, or until the oysters are cooked through and the edges are slightly crispy.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Toast

While the oysters are broiling, toast the ciabatta bread until golden brown. You can brush it lightly with olive oil for extra flavor.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove oysters from the oven and serve them hot with the toasted ciabatta on the side. Drizzle any remaining sauce over the bread for added flavor.
