Peppercorn Sauce

New York Strip Steak

Grilled Vegetables

Method

Peppercorn Sauce

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peppercorn Sauce

In a small skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped shallots and minced garlic, sautéing until they're translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Broth and Seasoning

Crack the black peppercorns using a mortar and pestle or a rolling pin. Add the cracked peppercorns to the skillet along with the beef broth, soy sauce, and salt. Bring to a simmer and let it reduce by half.

  3. 3

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in the heavy cream and let it cook for another 5-7 minutes until it thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

New York Strip Steak

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Season the Steaks

Rub the New York strip steaks with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 6

    Cook the Steaks

Place the steaks on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 7

    Boil the Potatoes

In a large pot, add the peeled and quartered potatoes and cover them with cold water. Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add 4 tablespoons of butter, heavy cream, and salt. Mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning as needed.

Grilled Vegetables

  1. 9

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the zucchini and bell peppers. In a bowl, toss them with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 10

    Grill the Vegetables

Grill the vegetables on a grill pan or outdoor grill until tender and slightly charred, about 5-7 minutes.

Soup or Salad

  1. 11

    Make the Salad

In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber slices. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then toss to combine.
