Prepare the Chicken
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.

Bread the Chicken
Set up a breading station with three bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for Panko breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in the eggs, and coat with the Panko mixture.

Bake the Chicken
Place the breaded chicken breasts on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Simmer the Sauce
Add crushed tomatoes, chopped basil, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Once the chicken is baked, remove from the oven and top each breast with a generous amount of the tomato sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese. Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
