Method

Preparation of the Grilled Salmon

  1. 1

    Marinate the Salmon

In a bowl, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the salmon fillets to the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).

  3. 3

    Grill the Salmon

Place the marinated salmon fillets on the grill, skin-side down. Grill for about 6-8 minutes on one side, then flip and grill for an additional 4-6 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Preparation of the Asparagus

  1. 4

    Prepare the Asparagus

Trim the woody ends off the asparagus spears and place them in a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat.

  2. 5

    Grill the Asparagus

Place asparagus on the grill alongside the salmon. Grill for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender and slightly charred.

Preparation of the Hollandaise Sauce

  1. 6

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Allow it to cool slightly.

  2. 7

    Whisk the Egg Yolks

In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and lemon juice until pale and thick.

  3. 8

    Combine Ingredients

While whisking continuously, slowly drizzle in the melted butter until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and a pinch of cayenne pepper to taste.
