Prepare the Glass
Start by rimming your glass with salt. To do this, run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into a plate of salt to coat it evenly.

Mix the Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and triple sec. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and mix the ingredients.

Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture from the shaker into the prepared glass filled with ice. Be careful not to disturb the salt rim.
