Method
For the Mozzarella Sticks
- 1
Prepare the Breading Station
Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 2
Bread the Cheese
Take each mozzarella stick and coat it in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- 3
Chill the Sticks
Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes to ensure they hold their shape during frying.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Cheese Sticks
Carefully add the frozen mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
For the Marinara Sauce
- 6
- 7
Simmer the Sauce
Add the canned crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir well and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove the marinara sauce from heat and serve warm alongside the crispy mozzarella sticks.
