Wash the fresh green beans under cold water. Trim the ends and cut them into 2-inch pieces.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until well mixed.

Add the blanched green beans and half of the French fried onions to the soup mixture. Stir until the green beans are evenly coated.
