Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of smoked cheddar on each patty to melt.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 4

    Assemble the Burger

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer with lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheddar, tomato slices, Wickles pickles, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
