Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball. Place them on a baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and browned on the outside.

Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté the Onions and Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

Add canned crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

  3. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Spaghetti

  1. 7

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.

  2. 8

    Cook the Spaghetti

Add spaghetti pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  3. 9

    Combine with Sauce

Add the cooked spaghetti to the simmering sauce and toss to coat the pasta evenly.

Garlic Bread

  1. 10

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic and chopped parsley until well combined.

  2. 11

    Prepare the Bread

Slice the French bread in half lengthwise. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves.

  3. 12

    Bake the Garlic Bread

Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 200°C (400°F) until golden and crispy.
