Method
For the Grilled Chicken Sandwich
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. While it's heating, brush both sides of the chicken breasts with olive oil. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- 2
Grill the Chicken
Place the seasoned chicken breasts on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- 3
Prepare the Bread
While the chicken is resting, slice the bread rolls in half. Spread 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise on each half.
- 4
Assemble the Sandwich
Place a grilled chicken breast on the bottom half of each bread roll. Top with lettuce leaves and slices of tomato. Close the sandwich with the top half of the roll.
For the Fries or Coleslaw
- 5
Prepare the Fries
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the potato strips in batches until golden brown and crispy (about 5-7 minutes). Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.
- 6
Prepare the Coleslaw (optional)
While the fries are frying, finely shred the cabbage and grate the carrot. In a bowl, mix the shredded cabbage and carrot with mayonnaise, vinegar, and sugar until well combined.
