Chicken Cutlets

Gravy or Spaghetti Sauce

Method

Chicken Cutlets Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch using a meat mallet. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs mixed with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Coat each piece of chicken in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with bread crumbs.

  4. 4

    Cook the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken cutlets and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Gravy or Spaghetti Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Gravy

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly until golden.

  2. 6

    Add Chicken Broth

Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 7

    Prepare Spaghetti Sauce (Optional)

If you prefer spaghetti sauce, add the tomato sauce and Italian seasoning to the thickened broth. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
