Filling

Wrapper and Frying

Method

Prepare the Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Pork

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground pork. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Once the pork is cooked, add the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, and chopped green onions. Stir well and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Stir in minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Assemble the Egg Rolls

  1. 4

    Prepare the Wrappers

Lay one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner facing you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling mixture near the corner closest to you.

  2. 5

    Roll and Seal

Fold the corner over the filling, then fold the sides in and roll away from you to form a tight roll. Use a little water to seal the edge of the wrapper.

  3. 6

    Repeat

Continue the process with the remaining egg roll wrappers and filling mixture until all are wrapped.

Fry the Egg Rolls

  1. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 8

    Fry the Egg Rolls

Carefully add 3-4 egg rolls at a time into the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.

  3. 9

    Drain and Serve

Remove the cooked egg rolls from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
