Method
Bread Preparation
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water and honey. Sprinkle the active dry yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine spent grain, all-purpose flour, and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Shape the Loaf
Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased bread pan.
- 6
Second Rise
Cover the loaf with a towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- 7
Preheat Oven
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 8
Bake the Bread
Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- 9
Cool the Bread
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
