Method
Torte Preparation
- 1
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a double boiler or a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Gradually fold the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until fully combined. Sift in the cocoa powder and gently fold until just mixed.
- 5
Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
- 6
Cool
Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
