Method

Biscuits

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Buttermilk

Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat into a thickness of about 1 inch. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter.

  6. 6

    Bake Biscuits

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Sausage Gravy

  1. 7

    Cook Sausage

In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbly.

  2. 8

    Make Roux

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.

  3. 9

    Add Milk

Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.

  4. 10

    Season Gravy

Add black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper to taste. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Cooking Eggs and Bacon

  1. 11

    Cook Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the hickory smoked pepper bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.

  2. 12

    Cook Eggs

In the same skillet, cook the Wilcox organic eggs to your desired style (fried, scrambled, etc.).
