Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.
- 3
Knead Dough
Mix until a dough forms. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
Pizza Assembly
- 5
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to the highest setting, usually around 475°F (245°C) or use a pizza stone if you have one.
- 6
Shape Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it onto a floured surface. Divide the dough into two equal parts and shape each into a ball. Roll out one ball into a thin circle.
- 7
Add Sauce and Cheese
Spread half of the tomato sauce evenly over the dough circle. Tear the fresh mozzarella into pieces and distribute them over the sauce.
- 8
Add Toppings
Choose three toppings of your choice (for example, pepperoni, mushrooms, and bell peppers) and evenly distribute them over the pizza.
- 9
Bake Pizza
Transfer the pizza onto a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 10
Garnish and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, sprinkle fresh basil on top, slice, and serve hot.
