Method

Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a rolling boil.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water. Add 400 grams of spaghetti and cook according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.

Meat Sauce

  1. 4

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and heat until shimmering.

  2. 5

    Sauté Onion and Garlic

Add 1 finely chopped onion and 3 minced garlic cloves to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.

  3. 6

    Cook Ground Beef

Add 500 grams of ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 7

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in 400 grams of canned crushed tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Mix well.

  5. 8

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. 9

    Serve

Serve the sauce over the cooked spaghetti and top with 50 grams of grated Parmesan cheese.
