Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Flavorings

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the milk, limoncello, lemon zest, and vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving. Optionally, drizzle with additional limoncello glaze or serve with lemon icing.
