Dumpling Filling
Method
Dumpling Preparation
- 1
Make the Filling
In a large bowl, combine the ground Wagyu beef, mashed Japanese sweet potato, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, bonito flakes, chopped green onions, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.
- 2
Prepare Dumpling Wrappers
If using store-bought wrappers, skip this step. If making your own, combine 2 cups of flour with enough water to form a smooth dough. Roll out and cut into circles.
- 3
Fill the Dumplings
Take a dumpling wrapper, place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center, and fold over to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges to seal securely.
- 4
Cook the Dumplings
You can either steam, boil, or pan-fry the dumplings. For pan-frying, heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the dumplings and cook until the bottom is golden brown. Then, add a splash of water, cover, and steam for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
- 5
Serve
Serve the dumplings hot with extra soy sauce or dipping sauce of your choice.
